WP3 – DEVELOPMENT OF INJECTOR EJECTOR UNIT2018-12-06T13:35:05+00:00

DEVELOPMENT OF INJECTOR EJECTOR UNIT

WP-Lead: Hoerbiger

Partners: ElringKlinger, HyCentA

Duration: 27 Month

Main Target:

The overall goal of work package 3 is to develop an injector for gas metering and pressure control, as well as an ejector for recirculation and pressure recovery with integrated valve driver electronic. The integrated unit will be weight optimized and have a compact design. The interfaces to the WP 4 Development of stack module will be defined.

This component will be validated and tested in the fuel cell system. The final goal is that this solution will set the standard for next generation fuel cell systems and can be commercialized in future automotive projects to meet performance as well as cost targets.

TRL:

Beginning of project: TRL 2 (technology concept formulated)

Expected TRL end of project: TRL 4 (technology validated in lab at system level)

Main Tasks:

  • 3.1: Design of injector/ejector unit – Generation 1
  • 3.2: Build and test of injector/ejector unit – Generation 1
  • 3.3: Design of injector/ejector unit – Generation 2
  • 3.4: Build and test of injector/ejector unit – Generation 2
  • 3.5: Vehicle Integration accompanying validation

Methods:

  • The design of the unit stat of the art 3D CAD design tools will be applied. The ejector will be designed using CFD simulation tool will be applied to optimize geometry.
  • Function test a test beechen will be build and experimental test will be conducted.
  • Electronic valve driver development available simulation and layout tools will be used.
  • Design verification an automated life time test bench will be used and necessary equipment for NVH and vibration measurement will be contracted external.

Main Milestones:

MILESTONE 13: Injector/ejector including valve driver electronics available

Main Deliverables:

DELIVERABLE 14: Injector/ejector including valve driver electronics
